In 1971 was created the (INAOE) and the field occupied by the observatory was divided into two, the bottom of the hill was occupied by the institute and the higher the Observatory became part of the Institute of Astronomy of UNAM.
In 1942, Luis Enrique Erro founded the National Astronomical Observatory of Tonantzintla on the hill that is in this town.
The INAOE is one of the most important research in astronomy, optics, electronics and computer science in Mexico, and has master's and doctoral programs in each of the four areas. |
