Synopsis
The film is set in the year 1807 in the city of Puebla de los Ángeles, New Spain. Leo San Juan, an insecure child of nine years old, lives spooked by the legend Nahuala that Nando tells his brother, according to which an abandoned old mansion is inhabited by a witch known as the Nahuala, who 52 years ago took over the spirits of two girls, and now seeks a third spirit, because if he succeeds on the day of death and are able to gain power enough to kill all the inhabitants of the city.

Nando is caught by the Nahuala, and Leo's rescue mission, overcoming their fears, and being helped by his grandmother, who had escaped from Nahuala in 1755 and by a Franciscan friar, finding the way to more colorful characters, as a alebrije, some sugar skulls and a quixotic Spanish ghost in armor.
